Managed to attack the first two of four MOUNTAINS of paper files in the studio office. Threw away two cartons of stuff, mostly old school syllabi and notes, books and notes on magic, and abandoned manuscripts. Two more mountains to go, and I intend to do that tomorrow.
I love housekeeping. I am addicted to it now. The reward and satisfaction are immediate. There is nothing like the feeling of contentment I have when, after a chore is done, I sit in a chair, relax, and view the results of my work.
I have only a few guidelines for deciding to throw something away: Will my grandchildren want it after I die? Will my grandchildren know what it is, understand it, and realize its value? Will my grandchildren know what to do with it, and how to use it? If the answer is no, it immediately goes to the dustbin.
Alternatively: Will it be a burden to my grandchildren? If the answer is yes, it also immediately goes to the dustbin.
