One of our air-conditioners, the one for which we had to wait for the company to order spare parts from Thailand, has finally been restored. The Chekovian irony is that the rains have come and the nights will be cooler.
It is saddening that parts for air-conditioners are not produced in the Philippines, a tropical country in which there is a demand for air-conditioners--and simply because employers here don't like having to face and deal with labor union laws.
The less we devalue our labor force, the more steps we take farther away from progress.
