The point of working is retiring as early as possible, especially if your monthly pension is equivalent to your monthly salary. You then get paid the same amount for doing nothing--and suddenly realize that, had you retired earlier, you would have more years enjoying your retirement.

I worked in an office 36 years. I wish that I could live another 36 to make up for time, but, I know that is not a realistic time frame.
