I would have offered to adopt a couple of homeless, Syrian children, but what stopped me was the knowledge that I could not provide them the cultural setting they would be comfortable in, the complete support of the religious practices they choose, the food they prefer, the bright future that they really deserve, and a whole range of options for their happiness.
