Amulet (Agimat) = A power object MADE BY NATURE, such as a stone, a shell, a hardened secretion, part of a tree, bones, or teeth.

Talisman (Anting) = A power object that is MAN-MADE, typically carved of wood or struck in metal and usually inscribed with symbols and letters.

The terms are not interchangeable.

"Anting" is the proper name for talismans. "Anting-anting" is derogatory.
