Do NOT clean your bird cages too often. Birds thrive in them when they are messy--and what looks "dirty" to you.

It is unfortunate that pet shop suppliers create bird cages made of tin and plastic that look good ONLY when they are spanking clean, which really isn't the environment that makes birds happy.
